Gay Games is a quadrennial athletic and cultural event which brings
together people from around the world. Based on the principles of
Participation, Inclusion, and Personal Best,* the Gay Games
welcomes all people without regard to their sexual orientation,
gender, race, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, political
belief, athletic/artistic ability, age, physical challenge, or
health status. You can expect long hours,
endless meetings, frustrating controversies over nothing, personal
expenses that won't be fully reimbursed, unjustified criticism from
unjustified critics, countless appeals to both friends and
strangers for funds, complex and perplexing issues, mind boggling
uncertainties, and conflicting priorities. On the other hand,
directors are individually and collectively responsible for making

leadership and inspiration, to maintain the fiscal integrity of the
organization and ethical integrity of the Games, to serve the
athletes and artists who take part in this world changing
